China will use anti-flu drug Avigan for treatment of people infected with coronavirus infection as NHK reported.

According to the message, the drug passed clinical trial at two medical organizations in China.

Director of the National Center for Biotechnology Development Zhang Xinmin stated that the tests took place in Wuhan and Shenzhen. 240 patients participated in the first trial and 80 in the second.

According to Xinmin, patients who took the medication got rid of temperature during 2.5 days, while patients who did not took Avian needed 4.2 days for getting better.

Besides, patients who took Avigan needed 4.57 days to be rid of cough, while those, who were not taking the medicine needed 5.98 days for it.

Moreover, the patients had a negative test for coronavirus after four days after medicine taking, while the other needed 11 days to get better. The X-ray also showed that the conditions of the lungs improved by 91% when the patients took Avigan and by 62% when the patients were not given drug.

As we reported, a positive result of treating patients with coronavirus with the anti-rheumatoid arthritis drug Tocilizumab (Tocilizumab) manufactured by the pharmaceutical company Roche was reported in Italy.
