China conducted successful glide test of the world's largest amphibious aircraft AG600. This was reported by Sina referring to China Aviation Industry General Aircraft Co., Ltd.
First AG600 flight over land is to take place in May, second one over water is scheduled for the second half of 2017.
AG600 aircraft is planned to be used during rescue operations and forest fires.
The maximum take-off weight reaches 53.5 tonnes, the aircraft can collect 12 tonnes of water in 20 seconds, and transport up to 370 tonnes of water on a single tank of fuel, according to the agency.
Seaplane may remain in the air up to 12 hours, its maximum speed is 500 kilometers per hour.
