The information that the virus escaped from Wuhan Institute of Virology is not corroborated by evidence as CGTN reported citing Institute’s Director Yuan Zhiming.

“As people who carry out viral studies we clearly know what kind of research is going on at the institute and how the institute manages viruses and samples. As we said, we do not have any virus – we have a strict regulatory regime; we have a code of conduct for studies. That is why we are sure in it,” Zhiming said.

Besides, the Institute’s Director is sure that any of the workers of the laboratory was infected and the institute holds researches in different areas tied with the coronavirus.

“There are teams on drug development, vaccine research; some are responsible for main issues, including the origin of the virus and general characteristics of the virus that is one of our strengths. Some work on the structure of the virus and immune response to it. We dedicated ourselves to it since the beginning of the outbreak,” he noted.
