Petition No. 6607 for adding greater punitive measures for sexual abuse of children has gained the required number of voices to be considered, according to the official website for e-petitions.

26,313 people (with 25,000 necessary) supported the petition. It states that Ukraine needs a unified register for the people convicted of sex crimes against children. The author also demands to toughen responsibility for the crime committed and to legalize the chemical castration for child rapists.

The text also notes that the chemical castration means administering a shot into a man’s body with a medicine reducing the sexual urge and lasting for a specific period of time. This very method is used in the U.S.A., UK, Germany, Poland, Czech Republic, South Korea, Argentina, Russia, Kazakhstan.

The petition also states that chemical castration shall be applied towards those who committed the high crime and has been given a diagnosis.

As it was reported, two minors were raped during one day in Ukraine. In Zaporizhia, a man previously convicted for pedophilia raped a 12-year girl. Another man previously convicted raped a 5-year girl in Volyn region.
