The entry-exit checkpoint in  Stanytsia Luhanska will be closed for two weeks. Luhansk regional state administration stated this on a page on Facebook.

“Since March 16, by the order of the commander of the Joint Forces, crossing in both directions is prohibited for two weeks on the checkpoints of entry and exit from the temporarily occupied parts of the Lugansk and Donetsk regions. An exception for returning to the Ukrainian part is made only for citizens who have permanent registration in the Ukraine-controlled area," the report said.

“Circumstances make it necessary to take such harsh measures: every day, about 15,000 people cross the Stanytsia Luhanska EECP. Therefore, the threat of the introduction and spread of coronavirus from uncontrolled territories is extremely high. Thanks to the security measures taken, we manage to keep the situation under control - not a single case of Covid-19 disease in the region was observed, "the governor of the region Serhiy Haidai stated.

He noted that citizens who had to pass verification in the social protection authorities during this period should not worry - its term will be extended. Social payments will not stop.

As we reported before, representatives of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) will receive the access to Ukrainian prisoners who are illegally detained in certain territories of Donetsk and Luhansk regions.
