Chaplynka entry-exit checkpoint on the administrative border of Crimea with the mainland Ukraine will suspend its work on June 7. This is mentioned in the message of press office of Ukraine's State Border Guard.
"Since 8 a.m. of June 7, 2021, the passage of people and vehicles across Chaplynka EECP is temporarily on hold due to the maintenance. One can cross the administrative border with the temporarily occupied Crimea via Kalanchak and Chongar EECP", reads the message.
The maintenance works are supposed to last for 14 days.
Recently, OSCE Secretary General Helga Schmid together with First Deputy Foreign Minister of Ukraine Emine Dzhaparova got acquainted with the situation at the Novotroitske checkpoint. This was reported by the press service of the State Border Guard Service.
So, during their visit to the checkpoint, Shmid and Dzhaparova got acquainted first of all with the existing infrastructure for safe and comfortable crossing of the demarcation line.
Ukrainian law enforcement officials have assured their readiness to ensure the passage of citizens through the demarcation line.
At the same time, the border guards informed that the Russian occupation troops let people through the road corridor where the Novotroitske checkpoint is located only twice a week, while significantly limiting passenger traffic.
