The exact date of introduction of a tough quarantine in Ukraine will be made known on December 9. Maksym Stepanov, the Healthcare Minister, said so on the air of Ukraine 24 TV channel.
The Minister did not rule out that it could be a different date than January 2, as the authority recommended doing before.
Besides, Stepanov claimed that during the lockdown, the government will definitely not put a halt to the work of public transport, including air traffic connection and interregional roadway and railway traffic.
Earlier, Stepanov said he would recommend the Cabinet to impose the lockdown in Ukraine in early January.
The lockdown is supposed to take three weeks. The Ukrainian government is yet to figure out and release the full list of possible restrictions.
According to Viktor Lyashko, the Chief Sanitary Doctor of Ukraine, imposing the three-week lockdown in Ukraine in January would help to cut the daily incidence level down to 6-8,000 people per 24 hours.
