A Donetsk Downtown game location appeared in the new video game Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, which was released on October 25.
According to the PlayUA game portal, the Donetsk Downtown map became available to users. The division and naming of the teams differ from the existing formations, featuring 32 players.
Donetsk does not appear among the locations of the campaign mode, that is, there will be no pre-prepared scenes associated with the city.
It is noted that the map does not reproduce actual hostilities, but the stadium that resembles the Donbas Arena appears in the screenshots. However, there's no Donetsk airport seen on the screenshots.
The battle for Donetsk airport began in May 2014 and lasted until January 2015. The Ukrainian military - the army, the National Guard, the Security Service, military volunteers - have been courageously defending their positions for 242 consecutive days, enduring the deadly attacks of pro-Kremlin militants and regular Russian troops. Some of the Russian troops, surprised by the fortitude of the Ukrainian fighters called them 'cyborgs'.
