The court received the indictment in the case of Olexandr Pugachov, the infamous cop killer in Dnipro city. Mykhailo Kuratchenko, the Deputy of Investigations Department of the Chief Department of the National Police reported that on Tuesday evening.
‘We had no problems investigating this case. Pugachov’s guilt is undisputed. The case has been sent to court. He’s been charged under Article 115, part 2 (intentional murder of two or more individuals),’ the official said.
Two cops were murdered in Dnipro city on September 25, when they stopped a driver for violating the traffic code. Pugachov resisted arrest, then took the policeman’s gun and opened fire. The serviceman died instantly and his partner, the female cop, died during the surgery. The woman managed to wound the attacker before catching the bullet herself.
Later, it turned out that the suspect in the crime served with Tornado, the police task force unit, which is now disbanded. Pugachov was already wanted at the time, as the suspect in other crimes as well.
