In Berdyansk, Zaporizhia region, a case of cholera was spotted as Zaporizhia Regional Lab Center of the Health Ministry reported.
According to the message, a citizen of Dnipropetrovsk region who spent his vacation in Berdyansk appealed to the hospital with acute gastroenterocolitis. He was one day in the hospital, then he refused from the treatment and returned to the home.
Then, the Vibrio Cholerae of O1 group, Ogawa serotype, avirulent and nontoxigenic was identified in the stamps of a person.
Six persons who contacted this man were checked at the place of his vacation in Berdyansk, 10 wipes, 2 samples of the drinking water and 1 sample of the wastewater were checked.
Also, the sample of the shrimps sold at the beach where the patient spent his time, 4 samples of the sea water, 1 sample of the wastewater of the city treatment facilities before the treatment and 1 sample of the wastewater of the infectious hospitals before the treatment were checked. However, the results of all samples are negative and Vibrio Cholerae was not found.
The information about cholera was passed to the place of the permanent residence of the patient. Berdyansk City Council approved the actions plan on the localization and liquidation of the cholera hotbed.
As we reported there is no epidemic of the measles in Ukraine but the occasional outbreaks are observed.
Earlier Moldova imposed the “orange” threat level on the results of the session of the national emergency commission for public health. It is noted that the most of the cases were spotted in the southern regions of Moldova.
Also, the European Health Security Agency reported that Ukraine was the third in Europe on the number of people infected with measles in 2017. The leaders are Romania and Italy.
