Car explosion in Kyiv: four children injured, two of them in critical condition

Four children were injured and hospitalized in the result of the explosion of a car in Sviatoshyno district of Kyiv. Two of them are in critical condition. Vicheslav Abroskin, the Deputy Head of Ukraine’s National Police as the local police reported.

An operational investigative unit headed by the leadership of the Kyiv police and the bomb techs work at the scene.

“Today on June 14, at 16:42 the explosion at Chernobylska Street, Sviatoshyno district of Kyiv was reported to the police of Kyiv,” the message said.

The law enforcers got to know that an old car that was parked near one of the housed for a long time became the epicenter of the explosion.

Preliminary, it is established that four children in the age from five to 11 years decided to play inside the car and got into it. Then they found an item that exploded.

“All four children hospitalized to “Okhmadit”, two of them are in the critical condition. We establish what exactly exploded and it is early to specify anything,” Abroskin said.

He added that the police holds the necessary set of activities to establish all circumstances of the happened and involved people.

As we reported an incident with the explosion occurred in Kharkiv, northeastern Ukraine. It appears that unknown perpetrators blew up an ATM of Oshchadbank.
