An incident occurred in Zakarpattya region, westernmost Ukraine, where a car driver ran over an employee of the State Border Guard. Oleg Slobodyan, the spokesman of the agency wrote this on Facebook.
In the small hours of Friday, the servicemen of the State Border Guard and their Romanian colleagues detained two smugglers and ten packages of tobacco products on the Romanian side of the border.
'Soon after that, the border guards detained a man in the diving suit - in the Dilove border section, not far from Tysa river. He carried no documents, but he had a lot of money that he supposedly got for making the illegal deal. During primary investigative actions, another unknown perpetrator ran over the head of the Border Guard unit. The Border Guard officer sustained heavy injuries. The ambulance car took the serviceman to the intensive care unit. The border guard's condition is extremely grave', Slobodyan said, specifying that the man was in a coma.
Later, Slobodyan added that the doctors are very careful in their assessments and forecasts; there's still a grave threat to the man's life.
