The Cabinet of Ministers adopted documents, according to which it will be possible to introduce an electronic excise stamp in Ukraine. Prime Minister Oleksiy Honcharuk stated this during a briefing, which was broadcast by 112 Ukraine.
According to him, the electronic excise stamp will help in the fight against corruption and reduce the percentage of the shadow market in Ukraine, from which the state budget is not filled with taxes.
"There are separate companies, individuals, organized groups that do not work according to the rules, deceive the Ukrainian state and Ukrainian citizens, and in order to establish clear rules, general, identical rules for everyone, we are creating an electronic system of actually electronic excise stamps. That is we want all goods that are subject to excise duty to be traceable and we all together clearly know how much is produced, how much is consumed, what taxes are paid," Honcharuk said.
The government plans to introduce an electronic excise stamp in the spring, not later than May 1. She will work through a barcode and a QR code. That is, all products will be labeled so that they can be individually identified.
As we reported before, Ukraine’s budget loses from 200 to 600 million dollars a year because of the shadow trafficking of alcohol.
