By the summer, Ukraine's Healthcare Ministry plans to conduct five million vaccination procedures per month. Healthcare Minister Maksym Stepanov reported that during the evening program on ICTV channel.
"Before the summer, we plan to reach this number (five million vaccinations per month). However, it will demand that we live up to all commitments in the agreements that we've made, and we have a problem with that", he said.
According to Stepanov, on weekends, people don't get vaccinated a lot because doctors have their days off.
Besides, the Minister claimed that this week, the number is already supposed to reach 10,000 vaccinations.
"Over the last 24 hours, 1,764 vaccinations took place. By the end of the week, we should reach 10-11,000 per week. That's what we're planning", Stepanov said.
The vaccination campaign in Ukraine began on February 24. Its first stage includes doctors and servicemen of the Ukrainian military. Medics use CoviShield, the vaccine developed by India and licensed by Oxford\AstraZeneca.
