The number of the victims of the fire occurred on the board of two vessels near Kerch Strait increased up to 14 as Kerch.FM reported.
As of 20:45 at Kyiv time, 12 sailors were rescued from the burning vessels. 14 people were taken out of the water without signs of life, another 5 sailors believed missing.
Saved sailors are taken to Kerch hospital with body cooling and frost damage.
The preliminary reason for the explosion at one of the vessels is the violation of the safety rules during the passage of the fuel by the sailors.
Two vessels under the flag of Tanzania were on fire near Kerch Strait. The crew of both vessels evacuated on water after the fire occurred. 17 people were on the board of “Сandy” vessel (nine citizen of Turkey and eight citizens of India) and 14 people were on the board of “Maestro” vessel (seven citizen of Turkey and seven citizens of India).
