On the night of November 7, unknown persons fired at the building of the consulate of Azerbaijan in Kharkiv. No one was injured as a result of the attack. This was reported by the press service of the consulate.

The intruders fired 6 shots, as a result of which the window and the front door of the consulate were damaged.

"Today, at about 2:30 am (November 6-7), the premises of the Honorary Consulate of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Kharkiv at Yaroslava Mudrogo St., 7 were fired by 6 shots. The window and the front door were broken. There were no casualties," the consulate said in a statement.

CCTV cameras recorded two young men with weapons in their hands, which resembled a pistol with a silencer.

A criminal case has been initiated after the incident. Kharkiv police launched an investigation.

Ukraine has opened its first honorary consulate in Shemakha, Azerbaijan. This is stated by the press service of the Embassy of Ukraine in Azerbaijan.

"On October 27, a solemn ceremony on the occasion of the appointment of the Honorary Consul of Ukraine in Shemakha was held at the Embassy of Ukraine in the Republic of Azerbaijan," reads the message.

Mehrali Gasimov, an entrepreneur and a graduate of the Kyiv Institute of International Relations, who has held various positions at international companies such as SAP and DeGolyer & MacNaughton Corporation, has been appointed Honorary Consul.
