Border guards of Ukraine have identified more than 60 Ukrainian citizens recruited by the Russian special services. Oleh Slobodian, the Assistant to the Head of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, stated this, as UNN reported.
“Fortunately, there are no resonant events now, but nevertheless every day we detain smugglers and citizens who are trying to illegally cross the state border. As a tendency, it can be noted that recently the number of people has increased, mostly Ukrainians who were previously recruited by the Russian intelligence services and now are trying to illegally enter Ukraine. We have identified over 60 recruited Ukrainians since the beginning of this year,” Slobodian said.
Earlier, Ukrainian border guards detained a “suspicious Russian,” who was planning to get to the EU countries at the Domanovo checkpoint on the border with Belarus. A passport, a knife, and files with the propaganda of “radical Islam” were found among the belongings of a native of the Chechen Republic.
