Workers of Ukraine’s State Border Guard detained a man carrying almost 20 kilograms of raw amber in the luggage space of his car. The incident took place at Ugryniv checkpoint. The authority’s press department reported that on Sunday.

‘Our compatriot attempted to smuggle the goods to Poland. However, the border guards discovered a hidden stash of amber in the luggage space; later, they also found some in the passenger compartment. The total weight made 19.5 kilograms of amber,’ the message said.

The stones were seized and taken for evaluation of their overall price.
