Boat with tourists turned over in the Black Sea, casualties reported

The boat with passengers turned over in the Black Sea close to the village of Dzhubga of the Krasnodar Territory of Russia. As a result of the incident, two passengers died, according to RIA Novosti.

The dead are the women whom doctors were trying to save on the shore. In total, there were 43 people aboard the boat, 37 of them successfully brought ashore.

According to eyewitnesses, six people were taken to the coast by passing ships. Information on the whereabouts of these people is still being clarified.

The cause of the crash could be the overload of the boat.

Policemen detained the owner of the vessel. Pre-investigation check is now being carried out on the fact of the overturning of a boat.

Earlier, another boat sunk not far from the Turkish coast. There were some 40 illegal migrants aboard, the Turkish coast guard reported.

The accident took place not far from Bodrum. Two extra teams of Coast Guard, a divers' squad and a helicopter rushed to the site.

The boat sunk in the area where the depth reaches 35 meters. As of 1 p.m. June 17, the search and rescue teams saved 31 passengers; they are searching for another nine.
