Kyiv schoolgirl Kseniya Zbyshko went on vacation to Antwerp in June 2017 and was greatly inspired by the city, where the art of past and present were successfully combined. It was there that she had the idea to make Chat Pis in the likeness of Petit Julien, the Jeanneke Pis, and the Chien Pis and present it to Belgium. An article about a young Ukrainian girl was published by a Brussels newspaper.
"I was at the exhibition. I saw Petit Julien. I think that the Chat Pis is what Brussels lacks. I believe that Belgium is the heart of Europe," the girl said.
She created a cat, which weighs 15 kilograms, and wrote a letter to the Belgian royal family, in which she proposed to accept this gift from her. In early summer, Kseniya received a response from Her Majesty Queen Mathilde.
Now the girl asks both the Belgians and Ukrainians to support her when the royal couple took notice of her and thus the realization of the dream of presenting Chat Pis statue to Brussels is getting closer.
Earlier, Kyiv schoolgirl Kseniya Zbyshko sent a letter to Her Majesty Mathilde, the Queen of Belgium and Ukraine's Charge d'Affaires a.i. in Belgium and Luxembourg Oleksandr Sorochyk asking to accept as a gift a sculpture of the Chat Pis, which she made with her own hands.
