Migrants who have spent days in a makeshift camp on the Belarusian side of Poland’s eastern border were being taken away by bus by Belarusian officials. This was reported by the press center of the Polish Border Guard Service on Twitter.
Poland’s Border Guard posted a video showing migrants with bags and backpacks being directed by Belarus forces away from the border.
However, Border Guard spokeswoman, Anna Michalska said some of the migrants were seen taking wooden logs with them, raising questions about whether they might be moved to another spot along the frontier.
A large group of people from the Middle East has been stuck by a border crossing with Poland since Nov. 8, waiting and hoping to enter Europe. Most are fleeing conflict or despair at home and aim to reach Germany or other western European countries.
Meanwhile, the Polish government considers the option of full closure of the state border with Belarus. Mariusz Blaszczak, the Minister of National Defense reported that.
"We consider a number of scenarios; we are aware that we have to deal with the hybrid attack. Yesterday, it was quite a serious situation", the Minister wrote.
The attacks of illegal migrants took place in the nighttime, too, but their intensity was lower than that in Kuznica town the day before. The situation on the border is complicated even more because Lukashenko's government supports the migrants. The Kremlin, in turn, supports Lukashenko.
