Belarus says Pratasevich and Sapega reached an agreement with investigation

The Investigative Committee of Belarus stated that journalist Raman Pratasevich and his girlfriend Sofia Sapega had reached an agreement with the investigation. The press service of the Investigating Committee of Belarus reported this.

"The Investigative Committee of Belarus continues to investigate criminal cases against Sofia Sapega and Raman Pratasevich. The accused have given consistent testimony, and in accordance with the law, they have previously applied for a pre-trial agreement on cooperation with the investigation," the statement said.

Police noted that the agreement of Pratasevich and Sapega to cooperate with the investigation became a condition for their transfer to house arrest.

As it was reported earlier, Russian Sofia Sapega and Belarusian opposition journalist Raman Pratasevich have been placed under house arrest.

As a reminder, Sofia Sapega with the founder of the largest opposition telegram channel of Belarus NEXTA, journalist Raman Protasevich, was detained in Minsk. The plane with Raman Protasevich on board flew from Athens to Vilnius. Suddenly, the plane gave a distress signal, changed course and made an emergency landing at the Minsk National Airport. The emergency landing was caused by a mining signal.
