Belarus bans two Ukrainian channels, including Zelensky's one

Belarusian Ministry of Information has banned the broadcasting of the Ukrainian channels Kvartal 95 TV and UA. The relevant decision was announced by the press center on the ministry's website.

“The reason for the decision was a violation of current legislation in the part concerning the foreign media specialization. Ukrainian TV programs broadcasted advertising that was not declared while getting broadcasting permits,” the statement said.

Kvartal 95 TV is a Ukrainian entertainment TV channel that is part of the 1+1 Media conglomerate. The TV channel started broadcasting on August 8, 2016. Until 2019, one of the TV channel beneficiaries was the current President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky.

At the same time, the Ministry of Information of the Republic of Belarus did not specify which channel they mean by UA. A number of media outlets suggested that it is about UA: Suspilne.

As it was reported earlier, in June, the National Council for TV and Radio Broadcasting banned Belarus 24 TV channel broadcasting in Ukraine. The reason was the placement of prohibited in Ukrainian audiovisual content.
