Beirut: Death toll rises to 135, state of emergency declared

The death toll in the explosion in Beirut has increased to 135 people; a state of emergency has been declared in the city, as Aljazeera news agency reports.

"The Lebanese Cabinet of Ministers declared a two-week state of emergency in the capital and handed over control of security to the military following a powerful explosion in Beirut, which killed at least 135 people and injured 5,000," it said.

As we reported before, as a result of the explosion in Beirut, several Ukrainians were injured. Ihor Ostash, the Ambassador of Ukraine to Lebanon stated this.

"There are some families whose property, houses, apartments were damaged. There are also minor injuries, cuts, bruises (for citizens of Ukraine, - 112 International), but there are no serious victims yet," Ostash said.

Earlier, August 4, videos of the explosion that thundered in Beirut began to appear in social networks. The media reported that the death toll exceeded 100, 4,000 people were injured. The surroundings of the scene were in ruins.
