Bears of Synevyr National Nature Park have not yet been able to fall asleep because of the high temperature of the air. The park’s press service reported this on its Facebook page.

During the week of frost, three bears still managed to fall asleep: Benia, Diurii and Potapych. However, the rest of the animals are not sleeping but waiting for a fall in temperature.

There is a rehabilitation center on the territory of Synevyr National Park, where animals are actually housed. These include bears that have grown in captivity and have never fallen into the winter hibernation.

Specialists set the goal of restoring natural instincts, and therefore train the bears to sleep all season long.

In total, 32 brown bears live there, almost all of whom fell asleep last year.

As we reported earlier, the National nature parks Synevyr, Zacharovany Krai, Podilski Tovtry and nature reserves Gorgany and Roztochya were added to the list of the World Heritage Site of the UNESCO. The Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of Ukraine informed about this.

The decision to add 63 blocks of the immemorial beech forests from ten countries to the Ukrainian-Slovakian World Heritage Site of the UNESCO ‘Beech primary forests of Carpathian and the immemorial beech forests of Germany’ was made at the 41st session of Committee on World Heritage of UNESCO in Krakow, Poland.
