The self-propelled barge 'Oleksandr Zhytnyk' sank in water area of Kakhovka Reservoir, Kherson region and the oil products spill took place. The press service of the Kherson Fish Inspection reported this.
The incident took place at 6 a.m. on October 5.
'The task group of the representatives of the state inspectors from the department of protection of aquatic bioresources of the Kherson Fish Inspection and State Ecology Inspection of Kherson region examined the place of the incident and collected the samples of water to identify the reason of the oil products spill and to establish the guilty', the message said.
'It is established that the oil spill expanded in six kilometers of length and 50-100 meters of width'', Kherson Fish Inspection noted.
The experts monitor the state of the aquatic bioresources at this part of the water area.
