Ban for BCG vaccine in Ukraine canceled

The investigation did not determine any connection between the incidents after using the vaccine

State Service of Ukraine on Medicines and Drugs Control withdrew the temporary ban for BCG vaccine, as the decree as of June 12, published on the website of the service, reports.

“The order of Ukraine’s State Service on Medicines and Drugs Control…on the temporary ban of the implementation and use of the lyophilized BCG vaccine…297 series, produced on ВВ-NCIPD Ltd, Bulgaria, is being withdrawn,” the document says.

According to the document, the permission to use the vaccine was adopted under the protocol of the investigation and determination of the causal connection between the incidents after the immunization and using the vaccine.

As it was reported, a Bulgarian vaccine for tuberculosis (BCG) was temporarily prohibited in Ukraine because one person died after the injection.
