After the attack on ex-political prisoner Volodymyr Balukh, his cell phone, and the credit card went missing. The press office of Kyiv police reported that on Tuesday evening.
According to the report, the man was hospitalized in Kyiv. Law enforcers have been checking the circumstances to qualify the incident properly.
The President's Office demands a quick and full investigation of this crime. The authority assumes that the attack could have political origins; however, the Office insists that all possible lines of inquiry are checked.
Ukrainian citizen Volodymyr Balukh was detained in the Russia-annexed Crimea in December 2016. Russian FSB operatives claimed that they found ammunition and TNT pellets in his house. Balukh claimed he was framed. The Ukrainian activist who hoisted the Ukrainian flag in the already occupied Crimea ended up in Russia, where they judged and sentenced him to a prison term.
The Ukrainian spent more than two years in Russia under trumped-up charges, before eventually returning to Ukraine last September.
