Ballot boxes and ballots are being brought to polls in Catalonia, the local TV-channel TV3 reports.

The channel showed how ballots are being brought to one of the polls not far from Barcelona.

They also informed that a queue has formed near a poll in Barcelona.

As it was reported earlier, the Spanish authorities announced their intention to block polling stations. In addition, on the eve of the referendum in Spain, 150 sites with information on voting were blocked. Later, the police seized about 2.5 million ballots, as well as 4 million envelopes  for voting in the referendum on the independence of Catalonia.

On September 29, on the eve of the referendum, several thousand people went to the rally. Later supporters of the referendum began to occupy premises in some schools in Barcelona, where a poll is scheduled for October 1.
