The Ayanske water storage in the occupied Crimea has run dry; the insfrastructure object was the source of drinking water for residents of Simferopol, the capital city of the peninsula. Anatoliy Shtefan, the officer of General Staff of Ukraine's Armed Forces reported that on Facebook.
"Occupied Crimea. Ayanske water reservoir that supplies water to Simferopol has run dry. The native bay is exactly like this - with flavor of aridity", he said.
In October 2020, the authorities of Simferopol introduced an increased alert mode in the city because of the shortage of water supplies. According to the local government, as of October 13, the overall volume of water supplies in Chornorichenske storage made 16.8 million cubic meters of water. At that, seven million cubic meters is the emergency ration, and it cannot go lower than that.
