Rescuers continue extinguishing fires in the Chornobyl zone: the helicopters dumped 538 tonnes of water. This was reported by the press service of Ukraine’s State Emergency Service.

It is reported that forest fire near the Zvizdal village, Zhytomyr region, and in the territory of Narodytske and Klyshyvske forestry is localized.

"There is no open fire, there is a smoldering of two cells in the total area of ​​about five hectares. 67 people and 21 pieces of equipment were involved in the extinguishing: 36 people and 11 pieces of equipment were provided by State Emergency Service," the statement said.

As we reported earlier, today, on March 14, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky is expected to reveal the truth about the fires in the Chornobyl exclusion zone.

"Tomorrow I will hear information from the Chairman of the State Emergency Situations Service of Ukraine Mykola Chechetkin regarding fires. Conclusions will not be long in coming. Society should know the truth and be safe," Zelensky said.
