The attacks on journalists, like any other forms of intolerance or violence are unacceptable. Kateryna Zelenko, the spokesperson of Ukraine's Foreign Ministry reported that, commenting on the recent incident in Kyiv.
'We're looking into the results of the investigation of the law enforcers,' she wrote.
As is known, far-right opponents of the march for the rights of the transgender people attacked Canadian journalist Michael Colborne as he was taking photos during the march in the Ukrainian capital on November 18.
Kyiv police department specified that the incident took place near Volodymyrsky Cathedral in Kyiv. Coborne turned to the law enforcers after the attack and said that he had been assaulted by two men while he was on duty; one of the attackers used a pepper spray, and the other one punched him in the face, breaking his glasses. The assailants disappeared right after the attack but Colborne managed to take photo of them as they turned their backs on him. He handed the picture over to the police.
According to Agence France-Presse journalist, the far-right protesters who tried to crash the march lit smoke bombs and threw them into the crowd.
