Bank collectors robbed in Irpin, Kyiv region

The attackers stole 109 000 USD; they face up to 5 years in prison

Privatbank collectors were attacked on November 17 in Irpin, Kyiv region. Speaker of the Kyiv region police Mykola Zhukovych said, as UNN reported.

Attackers took 4 ATM cassettes and escaped. According to the PrivatBank Security Service, 3 million UAH (109 000 USD) were stolen in these special cassettes intended for loading ATMs.

"The collector's car drove up to the ATM to replace the cassettes and fill it with money. While one collector was near the ATM, the second remained in the car. At that time, two unknown people ran up, opened the car, took possession of four ATM cassettes and fled. The driver tried to chase them, but he failed; they disappeared in a black jeep,” Zhukovych noted.

Local law enforcement officers have blocked the entire city and the surrounding areas. Police have opened criminal proceedings for a robbery of a collector car. Mykola Zhukovych notes the attackers face up to 5 years in prison.
