Health Minister Maksym Stepanov assured that Ukraine would receive the first batch of Covid-19 vaccine produced by AstraZeneca by the end of the week. He said this on the air of Ukraine 24 TV channel.

It is noted that 500,000 doses of the vaccine will be delivered from India.

"Based on the reports we received from COVAX, we expect 117 of these doses (Pfizer vaccine - 112 International.) to be delivered by the end of February. As for AstraZeneca, the first of these 500,000 doses should arrive in Ukraine by the end of the week, I think," he said.

Yesterday, on February 17, AstraZeneca filed an application for the registration of its vaccine in Ukraine.

As we reported earlier, the authorities of South Africa asked the Serum Institute of India to take back one million doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine due to insufficient protection from mild or moderate Covid-19 caused by a new strain of coronavirus infection.

The authorities of the country hold vaccination of the people from the risk groups, particularly, medics, by Johnson&Johnson vaccine.
