Artillery shells exploded during the final part of Cossack Mace 2021 exerices at Shyrokyi Lan firing range (Mykolaiv region, southern Ukraine). Press service of specialized procesutor's office in military and defense of the Southern region reported that on July 23.

The incident happened during the firing exercise conducted by servicemen of the 54th Detached Motorized Brigade named after Ivan Mazepa. The T-64 tank crews shot the designated targets while on the move.

The explosions were observed not far from a local settlement and on the premises of private household. The incident resulted in no casualties. 

The criminal case was opened on the fact of habitual negligence in military office. The pre-trial investigation is underway.

As we reported earlier, Ukrainian soldier from the Joint Forces Operation (JFO) was wounded as a result of an explosion on an unknown explosive device in Donbas. 

"As a result of a detonation on an unknown explosive device, one soldier received a combat injury," the message says.

A military man sustained moderately serious injuries.

It is noted that the Ukrainian serviceman was provided with medical assistance, he was promptly taken to a medical institution.
