An armed man who seized the Ukrposhta branch near the Kyivska subway station in Kharkiv took 9 adults and two children hostage. This was reported to the agency Interfax-Ukraine by the head of the National Police in the Kharkiv region Oleh Bekh.

"There are 9 adults and two children, we do not understand the demands yet, he did not put forward anything. Now we are trying to get in touch with him," Bekh said.

Also, according to Yaroslav Trakalo, the speaker of the National Police, the man in the mask entered the post office for the purpose of robbery.

Currently, at the crossroads of Matyushenko and Shevchenko streets, at the site of the incident, the traffic is completely blocked.
