Minister of Internal Affairs Arsen Avakov said that Anti-Terroristic Operation (ATO) veterans located in the Zolote, Lugansk region, where forces are being disengaged, remain there on the legit and have handed over their weapons. The press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs informs about it.
"Yes, the activists are there, but they are not violating anything. We spoke to them this morning and asked if there was a conflict in Zolote. They said that they had been shot last night. We think that the secret subversive group came in but this information still needs to be checked. And there were several automatic rifles or machine-gun queues," he said.
According to Avakov, they handed over the weapon, having fulfilled the law.
"I share the politics and the realities of things. There is an order of things - the territory of Zolote checkpoint is declared a yellow zone, people with weapons cannot be there, there are patriots who have fulfilled the requirements and taken weapons out of this zone. 10 thousand people can come anywhere, in Zolote, in Mariupol, and in Kyiv, if we all have one goal - a united, free Ukraine. Of course, we are afraid of provocations. In the modern world, provocation is one of the main methods of conducting political affairs,” Avakov added.
The Minister of Internal Affairs noted that the special forces unit Azov is currently based in Mariupol, while the actions of the far-right political party National Corps are the responsibility of its leaders.
As we reported earlier, the researcher of the Bellingcat project on Eastern Europe and Eurasia Ariс Toler said that the Ukrainian troops of the Azov regiment in Donbas have already received lethal weapons from the United States.
