An anti-government rally was held in Chișinău, Moldova on March 2. Several thousand citizens came to him, mainly veterans of the war in Transnistria. They demanded the resignation of the Cabinet of Ministers and a meeting with someone from the government, as the News Market reports.
The entrance to the government building was surrounded by police. They agreed to skip the protesters. But for the majority of demonstrators this was not enough - they demanded that the authorities themselves go out and talk with them.
The protesters chanted “We are the people, Dodon is the traitor”, “Kiku to the trash, along with Chokoi”, “Down with Dodon”, “Down with the government”.
Around 11:30, protesters broke the glass on the front door of the government building, and closer to 12 the police strengthened the defense. Protesters separated from the Cabinet building.
The central streets of the city were blocked. By 18 o’clock the protesters were persuaded to restore movement in the city.
Note that Igor Dodon is the President of the Republic of Moldova since 2016, and Aurelii Cioci is the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the country
