Ukrainian military reported second unauthorized flight of a drone near its ammo depot over the last 48 hours. The actual incident took place on November 5, the Defense Ministry reports.
At about 6.30 p.m. Tuesday, the guards detected an approaching UAV that was closing in on the altitude of approximately 300 meters.
The guard detachments were reinforced and storage premises were duly checked for foreign objects.
The State Security Service and the National Guard were immediately informed of the incident.
Earlier, the operation of the unmanned aerial vehicle was recorded in a restricted area over one of the arsenals of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, as the press office of the Ministry of Defense reports.
‘Yesterday, November 4, at 7:30 p.m., radars detected unlawful use of an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) near one of the arsenals of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the restricted area. Electronic Warfare Division has immediately jammed the control radio channels of the UAV, which made it impossible its further operation,’ reads the message.
It is added that the administration of the facility has reinforced the duty shifts of the security of the arsenal, mobile patrols thoroughly examined the territory adjacent to the military unit.
The fact of unlawful use of UAV near the military facility was immediately reported to the Security Service of Ukraine and the National Police of Ukraine in their area of responsibility.
