Zhytomyr Airport named after Korolev is open for international flights. The government has agreed to open a checkpoint at the airport across the state border. So the airport became international. The relevant decision was made at a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers.
"To open an international checkpoint across the state border at Zhytomyr airport for cargo and passenger airspace with a permanent mode of operation," the order reads.
The explanatory note to the draft regulation states that Zhytomyr Airport is currently a viable subsidiary that can provide landing, take-off, parking and maintenance of aircraft, passengers and cargo.
As it was reported earlier, Boryspil International Airport took the fourteenth place in the list of the largest European airports in terms of the number of passengers. For the first time, it was included in the TOP-15 largest airports in Europe.
