To residents of a small American town of Earlham in Iowa, an unknown philanthropist gave certificates for $ 150, as US Today reports.

So, gift cards were handed over to the whole city, in which 549 families live. People received an envelope with three gift cards of $ 50 each for food service, grocery store, and bar.

In order to make a generous gift to the city, an anonymous benefactor contacted the mayor of the city. The anonymous author said that he wants to purchase 100 gift cards from local manufacturers in order to distribute them to residents. So he wanted to support local business during the coronavirus pandemic.

At first, the anonymous author was going to give out 250 gift cards, but after that, he increased their number to 500. The mayor told the patron that there would be enough gift cards for almost the whole city, where 549 families live. Then the benefactor decided to provide cards to the whole village.
