The ammunition depots in Ukraine explode due to the bad overload of these stocks. Yuliy Mamchur, the Ukrainian MP from Petro Poroshenko's Bloc and former Air Force officer said this during his speech at The Pulse show at 112 Ukraine TV channel.
'This issue with the explosions at ammunition depots is a complex one because we've got a lot of ammunition widthrawn from the Warsaw Pact member countries. So, the overload of the stocks actually made 150% or even more. And we failed to cope with this problem by our own means, our funds that we assigned for utilization; so it's just a fancy custom to blame this particular government. This is a complex issue, which should have been solved over the past 26 years,' Mamchur said.
Thus, the MP commented on the explosions that occurred at the ammunition depot in Ichnia, Chernihiv region, northern Ukraine, that took place on October 9.
It's been the fifth time in four years when the ammunition stocks in Ukraine explode; the incidents took place in Balakliya (Kharkiv region), Svatove (Luhansk region), and Kalynivka (Vinnytsia region).
As we reported, a fire and the consequent explosions occurred at the ammunition stock in the town of Ichnia. The press office of the Armed Forces reported that on Tuesday morning. State Emergency Service crews arrived on the scene to cope with the consequences of the disaster. The necessary restrictive measures took place throughout Chernihiv region and along the state border with Russia.
