"U.S. Indo-Pacific Command is monitoring the Russian vessel operating in international waters in the vicinity of Hawaii. As part of our normal daily operations, we closely track all vessels in the Indo-Pacific area of operations through maritime patrol aircraft, surface ships, and joint capabilities. We operate in accordance with international law of the sea and in the air to ensure that all nations can do the same without fear or contest and in order to secure a free and open Indo-Pacific," INDOPACOM spokesman Major Rob Martins said.
It is noted that the ship was found near the economic zone of Hawaii on Friday, January 7.
As reported earlier, the training of the ships of the Navy of Ukraine, the USA, Turkey, and Romania under the name PASSEX took place in the waters of the Black Sea in November.
Earlier, NATO expressed their's readiness to continue building up its presence in the Black Sea region and to assist in the development of Ukraine's naval capabilities.
