The index of air quality in the Ukrainian capital is defined as "unhealthy". According to the aggregator, the average index in Kyiv made 158 out of 500. 

"Everyone can start feeling consequences for their health; the extremely sensitive people can feel more serious consequences", reads the description. 

In certain districts, the index exceeds 400; they are located mostly in the left-bank part of the city. On the right bank, the situation is somewhat better, however, in some locations, the index still makes a bit more than 300.

The thick fog in Kyiv poses no chemical or radioactive threat to citizens. The press office of the State Emergency Service reported that on April 17. 

"On April 16, cases of ignition of grass cover and forest cover were observed on the premises of Kyiv region - specifically, in Vyshhorodsky and Ivankivsky districts, as well as in Irpin zone. Numerous cases of burning of dry grass and garbage were observed in private households across Kyiv and Kyiv region, too. Besides, several burning sites are being extinguished in Zhytomyr region", the authority said.
