Kyiv's air pollution rate is going up. The excessive amount of toxic substances may cause respiratory irritation and even pulmonary edema, if breathed in at high concentration. The press office of the State Emergency Service reported this June 17.
The nitrogen dioxide concetration in Kyiv began to rise June 8; the increase of dangerous substance rate was caused by the heat in Kyiv. On June 12-13, the concentration of harmful substances in the air reached 5-6 average daily permissible concentration limits. Such rates were observed on four particular addresses.
According to the State Emergency Service, the nitrogen dioxide pollution rate in Kyiv will be growing at least until June 18.
