The National Agency on Corruption Prevention (NACP) has launched a full verification of the declarations of President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky and Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmygal. The NACP press service reported this.
The full verification of declarations takes 120 days. It can be extended but not more than 60 calendar days if there are grounds.
It should be noted that as of April 12, the NACP has already fully inspected 375 declarations of officials. All declarations will be checked with an automatic system. The computer will determine which declarations contain the greatest risks, and then the NACP staff will begin a full review of these declarations.
"Today, the process of verifying the declaration cannot be made completely automatic. One of the main reasons is the quality of data in most state registers. For example, there is no information about real estate purchased in the 1990s in the register. However, the purpose of the NACP is to make automatic as many processes as possible during the inspection," Head of NACP Oleksandr Novikov explained.
Most of these declarations were reviewed by the NACP, as it was impossible to complete such an inspection in 2020 due to the Decision of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine.
By the end of 2021, the NACP is going to inspect more than 1,000 declarations of officials.
As it was reported, Kyiv mayor Vitaliy Klitschko has filed his declaration of incomes in 2020. The official owns three apartments in Kyiv, a house of 785 square meters, and 2,500 square meters of land.
