In 2021, about one million flu vaccines will be available in Ukraine. This was announced by Oleksandr Zaika, Head of Immunization Department, SI "Public Health Center of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine" during a briefing.
"The number of vaccines on the private market will be about one million doses, which is significantly higher than in the previous year. Free delivery of vaccines for doctors is also planned," he said.
According to Zaika, tetravalent vaccines produced in Korea, France and the Netherlands will be available in the country.
"The vaccines will go on sale as soon as they pass the control of the State Medicines Service. From September 20, they began to pass the control. It lasts for two weeks," he said.
The expert added that during the flu and Covid-19 vaccinations, it is recommended to take an interval of two weeks between vaccinations.
But it is better to form a calendar of your vaccinations with your family doctor.
Meanwhile, in Ukraine, during the 2021-2022 flu season, the circulation of influenza strains B/Washington, H1N1 and H3N2 is expected. This was stated by the country's chief sanitary doctor Ihor Kuzin.
"A similar epidemic season of influenza is expected in 2021-2022. Circulation of B/Washington, H1N1 and H3N2 strains is expected," Kuzin said.
