Approximately 600 fishermen on the coast in Mordvinov’s Gulf on Sakhalin are cut off from the coast due to ice floes, TASS reports citing the press service of the Russian Ministry of Emergencies.
The service explained that due to the ebb and the "squeeze wind" 20 meters from the shore, an ice crack formed up to 10 meters wide, as a result, about 600 fishermen were cut off from the shore.
20 rescuers and 16 pieces of equipment work on-site, the rescuers are evacuating the victims by boat.
A similar case on Sakhalin already happened a few days earlier. Then 300 fishermen broke off the ice on the ice, everyone was saved.
As we reported before, the number of victims of powerful floods in the Indonesian capital - the city of Jakarta - has reached 66 people, and two more people are missing.
