“Preliminary, in 2019, from September 23 up to October 4, about 40,000 pilgrims from numerous countries will participate in the events; the most intensive transfer of the pilgrims will take place through Kyiv, Odesa, and Vinnytsia,” Chechotkin said.
According to the Emergency Service Head, the body will assume all necessary measures to provide the security of the pilgrims over Ukraine during the celebration of the Jewish New Year. The special attention will be paid to the organization of the security of the pilgrims in Uman, Cherkasy region.
“All events will take place in the close cooperation with the National Police of Ukraine, local authorities, organizers of the event and consulate in Uman and representatives of the Israeli police,” Chechotkin underlined.
The detachments of Cherkasy garrison will work in enhanced regime from September 23 up to October 4. The helicopter of Ukraine’s Emergency Service for air ambulance emergency will work.
In 2018, over 30,000 Hassidim gathered in the town of Uman, central Ukraine, to pay tribute to their spiritual leader Rabbi Nachman, who was buried there.
