As of now, 22,977 people are being treated for coronavirus in medical institutions of Ukraine. This was announced by Health Minister Maksym Stepanov during a briefing.

Stepanov noted that over 1,000 patients had been hospitalized over the previous few days.

"As of this morning, there are 22,977 people hospitalized. These are people who have already been diagnosed with Covid-19 or are in hospitals with suspicion, given their condition and the severity of the disease," the minister said.

As we reported earlier, the Office of the President of Ukraine claimed that Ukrainian experts had approached the invention of a domestic anti-coronavirus vaccine.

"These tests were run for six months, and they include the presence of neutralization of Covid-19 in the culture of infected cells of a human body. This candidate of the original Ukrainian vaccine is being created based on the unique approach," reads the message.

One of the developers claims that the current prototype could help people fight new, forthcoming kinds of coronavirus infections that keep mutating.
